Once upon a time
We walked the forest, hand in hand.
The trees were our home,
The creatures of the wood,
Our family.
The Stars were our very best friends.
We drank the wind,
We flew through the oceans,
We danced in the volcanoes,
We built kingdoms of clouds.
Always our joy in adventuring through the magical realms together.
When I saw you again, I remembered.
I thought we could go back.
We could not.
Too many lifetimes had left their shadows upon our souls,
We were now more human, than magical creature.
Although our souls delighted in all of our shared adventures and pleasure,
Our human Hearts we no longer beating together in the magical Harmony of the past.
Our Journeys were leading us on different paths.
I tried to hang on tightly, never wanting to lose you again.
But you felt bound by imaginary jesses,
Ripped them off and flew away....
Sometimes I feel you nearby.
Your heart longing for that ancient love, as mine does.
It is fleeting, as I hear the gentle beating of your wings carrying you back to safety.
